What is Reiki?

Origin of Reiki

Reiki is dated back to the teachings of Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1920s. Usui’s spiritual aspirations encouraged him to engage himself with intense spiritual practices which later culminated into a profound revelation that led to the practice now commonly called Reiki.

Mikao Usui travelled a great deal throughout his life spreading his knowledge to many students but trained only 16 Reiki Masters who have helped keep his heritage alive by passing it down to generations are generation even in the 21st century.

When you take a reiki session, the Reiki Healer places their hands either directly on you or just above you to bring about healing. It is believed that by doing so, the practitioner triggers the natural healing abilities of your body ensuring the free flow of “life force energies”.
